Washington, DC
Care that fits a DC family’s week.
DC families use Novinway for after-school hours, full workdays, evenings out and time with another child. The same Care Specialist, or a small familiar team, learns how your child communicates and what helps them settle.
At home
Morning routines, after-school hours, dinner and bedtime, evenings out and overnight care while you’re away. Your Care Specialist follows your child’s familiar routine and the plan in their Family Care Plan.
Out and about
School pickup, appointments and outings you approve, planned around your child’s interests, sensory needs and safety.

How care starts.
Every family starts the same way, wherever you live. Care Specialists are our employees: background-checked, First Aid and CPR certified, trained in person and supervised by our clinical team.
Free consultation
A conversation about your child, the hours you need and whether we’re a good fit.
Family Care Intake
A $300 intake: a 60-minute call with you, an in-person assessment and a written Family Care Plan we develop with you.
Matching and preparation
We match a Care Specialist to your child and schedule, then prepare them for your child before the first visit.
A supervised start
A supervisor joins in person as care begins, for as many visits as needed. Supervision can return later, and ongoing clinician guidance continues throughout care.
After intake, choose Monthly Care at $40 an hour plus a $300 monthly membership for a regular schedule, or Flex Care at $50 an hour plus $100 per 90-day access period for visits as needed. Full pricing and cost calculator

Eligibility and services
DC Department on Disability Services
DDS determines eligibility for developmental disability services, including autism, for DC residents whose disability began before age 22. Its waivers serve adults 18 and older, so for younger children DDS is part of planning for adulthood. Intake: (202) 730-1700.
Respite
Waiver respite
DC’s IDD and Individual and Family Support waivers serve eligible adults age 18 and older. Respite is available through these programs only for enrolled participants, through their DDS service coordinator.
Family support
Family Ties of DC
Parent-to-parent support for DC families of children with disabilities. (202) 459-4002.
Novinway isn’t part of these programs and doesn’t bill them; we are private pay. Navigation Services can help you apply and see it through.
Questions from DC families.
Do you provide childcare everywhere in DC?
Yes, Novinway serves families across Washington, DC. Matching depends on your location, schedule and the right fit for your child, and we talk through all three in the free consultation.
Can a Care Specialist pick my child up from school or an activity?
Yes. Care can include school pickup, appointments and outings you approve. We plan routes, timing and handoffs with you during intake, and every outing follows a plan you’ve agreed to.
Do you accept DC Medicaid waiver or DDS funding?
No. Novinway is private pay and does not bill health insurance, Medicaid, waiver programs or another health payer. Some families use waiver respite through DDS for part of the week and private care for the rest.
Can we use a dependent care FSA?
Often, yes, when the care lets you work or look for work. See our dependent care FSA guide for what qualifies and the paperwork you’ll need.
How soon can care start?
It depends on your location, schedule and fit, because every assignment requires matching and child-specific preparation. We don’t assign someone just to fill a schedule, and if we can’t find a safe fit, we tell you plainly.
