Syd kept seeing the same thing.
After years working with neurodivergent children and their families — in clinics, homes, and the community — the pattern was always the same. The clinical side of a child's care had real support behind it. Everything else fell on the parents: finding someone they could actually trust with their child, managing the paperwork and the providers, and navigating a complex and fragmented system that often felt overwhelming and isolating. They were capable, organized, and completely spent.
They needed practical, flexible support that worked around the family's schedule, not the other way around. That support didn't exist, so we built it.
The model we designed won first place at the 2026 Georgetown Entrepreneurship in Health Challenge, recognized for its approach to a long-overlooked problem. It was validation of something the families we'd worked with already knew: this support should have existed a long time ago.

The people behind Novinway
Syd Pickard
Syd is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who trained at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She spent nearly a decade directing behavioral programs, training caregivers, and working directly with neurodivergent children from toddlers through teenagers. She knows what it means to sit across from parents who've been told there's nothing left to try — and to help them find a path forward.
Before a caregiver ever walks through your door, Syd has built your child's Care Profile and trained your team on it. She sets the clinical standards, provides ongoing oversight, and owns the consistency you can count on as your child grows.
Jeff Moeller
Jeff grew up on an IEP for ADHD, so the stakes of this work are personal. He's a Marine Corps special operations veteran and Bronze Star recipient. Jeff spent over two decades as a military servicemember and federal employee building and leading teams in intelligence and national security — where getting it wrong wasn't an option. He studied business at Georgetown University.
Parents are entrusting Novinway with their children's safety, and Jeff treats that responsibility accordingly. He built the screening process, the operational systems, and the safeguards that ensure complete reliability.
Rebecca Blofstein
Rebecca is a military spouse and parent of a neurodivergent child who has navigated the full weight of what our families carry — obtaining diagnoses, sitting on waitlists, managing providers, coordinating school transitions, and rebuilding support networks across four cross-country moves.
She spent seven years as a federal employee at the Administration for Community Living, coordinating programs and working directly with clients navigating complex government systems. At Novinway, she brings both the institutional knowledge to untangle these systems and the lived credibility to understand exactly what families are carrying. She operates across the entire business — driving both direct family support and the internal operations that make it possible.
