Built by a team who saw the problem firsthand.
Novinway exists because the families who needed this support the most had nowhere to turn. This is how it started.
Syd kept seeing the same thing.
After years working with neurodivergent children and their families, in clinics, homes, and the community, the pattern was always the same. The clinical side of a child's care had real support behind it. Everything else was on the parents: finding someone they could actually trust with their child, managing the paperwork and the providers, figuring out a system that no one had designed to help them. They were capable, organized, and completely spent.
They didn't need more advice. They needed someone to do the things no one else was doing. That service didn't exist, so we built it.
The model we designed won first place at the 2026 Georgetown Entrepreneurship in Health Challenge, selected from a national field for its approach to a problem the healthcare system has largely ignored. It was validation of something the families we'd worked with already knew: this support should have existed a long time ago.
The people behind Novinway
Syd Pickard
Syd is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who trained at Kennedy Krieger Institute, one of the country's leading centers for autism and neurodevelopmental care. She spent nearly a decade working directly with neurodivergent children and their families, from toddlers through teenagers, running behavioral programs, training caregivers, and sitting across the table from parents who had been told there was nothing left to try.
When your caregiver shows up already knowing your child's routines, sensory needs, and what helps them regulate, that's because Syd built the Care Profile and trained that caregiver on it before the first visit. The clinical standards, the ongoing oversight, the consistency families count on as their child grows - she designed all of it.
Jeff Moeller
Jeff grew up on an IEP for ADHD, so this work is personal. He is a Marine Corps special operations veteran and Bronze Star recipient who spent over two decades leading teams and building systems in intelligence and national security — environments where the margin for error is zero. He studied business at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
At Novinway, he built the operations from the ground up so that families get what they were promised: the right caregiver, prepared and on time, with a trained backup ready when plans change. When the scheduling holds, the communication is consistent, and nothing falls through the cracks, that's twenty years of operational discipline applied to something that actually matters.
Why we exist
Families raising neurodivergent children carry more than most people see: the care itself, and the weight of a system that was never built to make any of it easy. We exist to shoulder both sides of that, so no family has to do it alone.
What we're building toward
The families we serve have been managing without real support for years. We're building the service they should have had all along, and making it available to families who have been doing this on their own. When the right support is finally in place, families get something back: the freedom to make decisions about their careers, to be fully present with their children, to take a night off, to plan ahead instead of just getting through the week.
What we stand for
Integrity
Care decisions are never shaped by what generates revenue. When we're not the right fit for a family, we say so. Families trust us with their children, and that trust is the foundation everything else is built on.
Excellence
Good intentions aren't enough when it's your child. Every specialist is screened, trained, and supervised to documented standards before they work with your family. Every shift is logged. The same bar applies every time, because families who have been let down before deserve better than inconsistency.
Respect
Your child is cared for as the person they are, not a case to be managed. You're the expert on your own child, and we support your decisions rather than second-guess them. Our employees are paid fairly, employed directly as W-2 staff, and given the training and support to do this work well. That's how you keep good people and build something that lasts.
We'd like to meet your family.
Every family's situation is different. Tell us about yours and we'll figure out what kind of support would be the right fit.
